Monday Night Brewing is an Atlanta-based craft brewery, creating beers for the weeknights – balanced, flavorful ales that pair well with food.

About the project

The Monday Nighter is an annual race held in Atlanta at Monday Night’s Garage location off the Beltline in Atlanta. PArticipants can enjoy a kids fun run, 1-mile, 5k, and 10k races. Each year the shirt designs feature a whimsical theme and this year was no different: Pirate Dinosaurs.

Process

Monday Night gave us the theme and let us have creative freedom to interpret it. They provided past years’ shirts as a baseline for what they were looking for. 

Sketching

Joseph sketched out black line ideas for each of the dinosaurs: A kid-friendly, cute dino for the kids race, and four more intense dinos for the adult shirts.

Finalizing

Once we got approval on the sketches, Joseph completed the full drawings and Emily did the color work, taking some inspiration from the Dinosaur Connoisseur can she illustrated for Monday Night the year before. Emily also designed and drew the race logo on the shirt pocket area.

The race coordinator then gave the final graphics to the shirt company who created the overall design and arrangement.
