Logo + branding
Creative Process
BRIEF
Messenger Fellowship had been working with another designer to develop a new logo, and it wasn’t going well. Emily was asked to take over the project and finish the logo redesign into a “modern M.”

- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe InDesign
Process
At the time of the project’s takeover, the logo committee was worn out by how long the process had already taken and wanted to just pick an concept to be done with it. Emily was determined to get the project back on track, provide a logo they would proud of, and hopefully insert some excitement in the project again.
Emily worked with one point person who represented the committee on 4 rounds of drafts. Once the final was complete, Messenger Fellowship received logo files, a color palette, textures, social media templates, and a brand guide.
Designing the logo
Messenger Fellowship shared that they wanted an “M” logo that looked modern. Emily created drafts that fulfilled these client wishes, but she also incorporated other meanings into the logo that pertained to Messenger Fellowship’s purpose, mission, and values.

A Logo with meaning
The final concept fulfilled the requirement of being a “modern M,” but it was also created with more meaning in mind:
- Messenger Fellowship operates on 5 pillars. There are 5 elements that make up the M.
- One of the 5 pillars is the concept of “The Radical Middle.” This pillar is highlighted with the high-contrast triangle in the middle of the M.
