David is an author, speaker and advisor for creative firms. He is the author of six books, three of which focus on the central elements of the business of expertise: positioning, financial management, and leadership. David speaks regularly on more than 70 topics relevant to entrepreneurial expertise and regularly appears as a guest on different podcasts. David has worked with 900+ firms through the Total Business Review process. 

About the project

David wrote Tradecraft  as a manual for genuine advisors who really care about making a difference.

Process

David approached me with the manuscript and said “Read this and illustrate what you think needs to be illustrated, as much or as little as you think.” This gave me a lot of creative freedom, but was also valuable for David to see a different person’s perspective, giving insight as to what parts of the book resonated most.

I created over 50 unique illustrations. Once the rough drafts were completed, David gave feedback and edits, and also made a few suggestions for other illustration opportunities. 

This project began in 2019, and unbeknownst to us, a global pandemic was soon on the way. David delayed the publishing book until a time when the world wasn’t so frantic and distracted, so here we are in 2023 ready to share it!
